I'm liking mountain biking again

I'm trying out a new trail bike which is a blast...it has all sorts of new gizmos and technologies...:

- 27.5 inch wheels...not 26inch and not big 29'er wheels but right in the middle...perfect

- 150mm of  wheel travel...a lot more than I'm used to but it sure makes it nice going downhill!

- slacker geometry...again, nicer to go down with

- a dropper seat post...opened up a whole new world going downhill...I will never be without one again...

My bike is the Scott Genius 700 SL...check it out...

I'm liking the road racing

This is a pic from a awesome race I did on Sunday. The same day as the famous Paris-Roubaix or the Hell of the North.Hope to see that one someday and ride in Belgium. For now I had my hands full at "Barry's Roubaix" in Pitt Meadows. A good hard spring kick in the nuts.Wet,cold and muddy. Great course that was half pavement and half gravel.Gotta take another crack next year!

Writing about Riding?

Squamish is home, but I do like to travel to other places, Italy being my favorite spot and bring my bikes most times. This is the first time I've ever taken the photos and the strands in my head and put them down on paper, or "cyber paper" I guess.Below is a link to an article I wrote up and submitted to a cycling website I really like called PEZCyclingNews...have a read if you have a few minutes and hopefully it inspires you to ride and explore too.
You gotta get out there, fantastic experience await us all! The biggest step is just getting out the door...

Musette Caffe Team

I am becoming more of a roadie. I have joined up with a great bunch of guys sponsored by the awesome Musette Caffe in Vancouver Musette Caffe
I've never been part of a road team before but this is always something I've wanted to do. Going to do some rides and races this summer and see what happens.
The team will have really awesome matchy matchy kits and our homebase is the cafe so we can all meet there for rides. It's a super cool place with great espresso and food. The walls are adorned with cycling memorabilia that gives off a good vibe.Race videos playing up on the flat screen to get you fired up. Everyone is welcome there which makes it a great place to visit even if you're not a shaved legged cycling freak.
I got a headstart on things and got my helmet done up in the team colors thanks to one of my teammates....whizzy.See you out on the roads.
